This little-known expression is from the play, Hercules, the fifth largest constellation in the sky. It is notably relevant for a chapter on Space Tourism, as getting into space is a heavy lift.

Technology changes tourism. During the age of sail, it took two to three weeks to travel from California to Hawaii. In 1866, Mark Twain visited Hawaii. He embarked from San Francisco and the steamship, Ajax, delivered him to the island chain in seven days. In 1936, 70 years later, passengers could fly from San Francisco to Hawai’i in 18 hours.
