Coach Managers
Have managers ever come to you and asked for help with employees? I hope they didn’t wait too long. Managers have never been more important to the success of organizations. Yet many ignore the most important part of their job: developing their people. Developing people, closing skills gaps in the workforce, and increasing knowledge is a partnership between talent development and managers.
Given that some managers may not have thought about it this way in the past, you will likely need to get them started and coach them along the way. You will also need to clarify their role as a developmental manager and show them how to embed development into the work their employees are doing.
