For a designer with clear ideas, working for another label can be a genuine torture. And this
tends to be the case with all creators in the making: fi rst, you must cloak yourself in the
identities of others and then, little by little, come up with ideas that allow you to express
yourself. is is how Avsh Alom Gur began his career, holding diff erent positions and
fulfi lling a variety of responsibilities at other labels (Donna Karan, Roberto Cavalli and
Chloé, among others) before creating his own collections.
