The Studio: Acoustics and Monitoring

Remember this:

The shape and wall treatment of a room can have a big effect on what you hear in a track, and can lead you to make bad decisions.

Soundproofing has nothing to do with egg crates or foam tiles. If you want to keep noise away, you have to follow some rules about mass, decoupling, and sealing.

The most important sound gear you can buy is monitor speakers. Choose them wisely.
