The AutoLISPreg programming language can be used to reach beyond the boundaries of the Autodeskreg AutoCADreg application window and objects in the current open drawing. Using AutoLISP, you can access settings managed by the operating system and installed applications on Windows or by the application-level settings of AutoCAD on both Windows and Mac OS. You can access operating system– and application-level settings from the Windows Registry. On Mac OS, you can access application-level settings for AutoCAD from the Plist (property list) files.
