Static values in a custom program are helpful in executing a set of code statements consistently each time the program is run. However, using static values only prevents the user from providing input during execution. Your users might need to specify the location of the corner of a mounting plate, an insertion point for a block reference, or which objects to modify. The AutoCAD® Object library provides a variety of functions that allow you to request input at the Command prompt or with controls in a user form.
