Putting On the Boots

Continue with the previous exercise’s scene file, or open the Soldier_V07.max scene file in the Scenes folder of the Soldier project from the book’s web page. At this point, you are probably feeling comfortable with the tools and interface, so we’ll pare down the steps somewhat unless the procedures are new to this chapter.

1. To create the boots, start by creating a cylinder in the Perspective viewport. In the Create panel, select Geometry Cylinder. Set Radius to 5.0, Height to 8.0, Height Segments to 1, Cap Segments to 1, and Sides to 8, and make sure the Smooth option is checked. Create the cylinder.
