The Weldment Environment
A weldment is a specialized assembly. Like the sheet metal tools, the tools Inventor provides for working with weldments are built around the work-flows and demands of a production environment. A weldment is an assembly that is regarded as a single, inseparable part.
Building the weldment as an assembly first makes it easy to understand how the components need to be positioned and what components are included in the weldment. The weldment environment also understands the ramifications weldments have on BOM structure and how to handle the weldment as a single component and document its members when needed.
