Chapter 6

Exploring Part Modeling

In Chapter 3, “Introducing Part Modeling,” you used a number of key features in the Autodesk® Inventor® 2014 program that are most commonly used in 3D solid modeling. You used these tools in the context of creating a component to see how these tools add features to, and remove features from, a part.

In this chapter you will take a step back from this workflow-oriented process and focus on the elements and options of powerful tools. You will work with techniques that go beyond the fundamentals. You will also gain a better understanding of where the power of parametric modeling really lies: in the editing of parametric models.
