Schematic Design
Design inspiration comes from many sources. Some designers like to sketch by hand, and others use digital tools, but regardless, the design needs to align with the building program. Many modern sketches now happen digitally to make the transition from concept to schematic design easier.
When you begin to migrate your conceptual design from the sketch to the computer, don’t start with building elements (walls, floors, and so forth). Instead, start with more primal elements, a process called massing in the Autodesk® Revit® Architecture software, to make sure your program is correct.
