Windows PowerShell scripts are nothing more than text files that you can create in any text editor. We recommend that you use a script editor, such as the aforementioned Windows PowerShell Integrated Scripting Environment (ISE), which offers tab completion, syntax highlighting, and debugging. We typically will use the free PowerGUI product for our development because it offers all the same features as the Windows PowerShell ISE as well as IntelliSense. However, it requires a separate download and install versus the Windows PowerShell ISE, which is more readily available as part of the Windows 2008 operating system.
