Deploy and Manage Sandboxed Solutions
Now that you have a basic understanding of Farm Solutions, we turn our focus to Sandboxed Solutions. The word Sandboxed is quite fitting for this SharePoint 2010 Feature. Farm Solutions are installed at the Farm level and then deployed at any number of levels; some resources may go to various Content Databases and some may be deployed to the file system or even the GAC of each server in the Farm. Sandboxed Solutions, on the other hand, are deployed at the Site Collection level and are executed in a secure, monitored process (SPUCWorkerProcess.exe) that only has access to data contained in the Site Collection.
