Where Do You Go From Here?

You should now feel confident that you can go forth and edit your own projects and those of your friends and future clients. Although you’ve learned a lot, I hope this is a beginning, not an end. I hope you use this as a gateway to knowledge and that you continue to learn and grow, not just your Avid skills, but your editing skills as well.

There are a few books on the art of editing that are worth reading: The Technique of Film Editing by Karel Reisz and Gavan Miller; On Film Editing by Edward Dmytryk; and In the Blink of an Eye by Walter Murch.
