How to do it...

  1. Confirm that Route 53 supports the TLD; you can get a list of the supported TLD's here: http://docs.aws.amazon.com/Route53/latest/DeveloperGuide/registrar-tld-list.html.
  1. Transfer the DNS:
    1. Create a Route 53 hosted zone to get the name server details.
    2. Create all the resource record sets in a newly created hosted zone.
  2. Change the settings with your current registrar (this process can differ with different registrars).
    1. Unlock the domain.
    2. Disable privacy protection from the domain.
    3. Get an authorization code.
    4. Disable DNSSEC for the domain.
    5. Check your contact information with the current registrar.
  3. Request the transfer:
    1. Log in to the AWS console and select Route 53.
    2. Navigate to domain registration and click on Get started ...
