How to do it...

We can configure Macie to discover and classify risks in an S3 bucket as follows:

  1. Go to the Macie service in the console.
  2. If we are using Macie for the first time, we should see a Getting Started page. Click on Get started. We should see a screen with options to select the region, view service role permissions, and enable Macie.

  1. Select the region as US East (N. Virginia) and click Enable Macie. We will then be taken to the Macie dashboard:
  1. Click on INTEGRATIONS on the left sidebar. This will show us the list of resources and accounts currently integrated with Macie:
  1. Click the SELECT button next to our Account ID
