TRANSFER CHARACTERISTIC AND DISTORTION
When a signal is passed through an audio process, through an amplifier, speaker, line, or other; it can be modified contrary to the intention of the user by incorrect alignment or through a fault in the equipment.
The event that produces an output when the input is presented with a signal is called transfer, and the transfer characteristic determines the similarity of the two waveforms. It can be represented by a graph, as in Fig. 5.1, and seen as a line linking the two signals.
