Control Systems

BASIC CONTROL GROUPS

In many systems or audio installations there is a sub-system which is not involved with audio processing, but which accomplishes remote function switching and distributes power to external equipment.

The control system integrates control functions into a central command area, or to distributed command points, and provides automatic interlocks between some of the sub-sections. An example of this would be the relay (Fig. 12.1) that cuts the studio monitor speaker when a microphone channel is opened, or the automation that dims the lights and opens the curtains in a motion picture theater.
