Delivering High-Speed Database Backups
Sun measured backup throughput for online, offline, and raw disk backups. The most notable feature occurred during the portion of the backup process when NetBackup streamed data from all devices in parallel, the configuration sustained raw disk backup rates of more than one Tbyte/hr.
For online and offline backups, sustained rates of approximately 940 Gbyte/hr. were achieved, with no significant difference between the online and offline backups.
