Conventional flux balance analysis and its applications
Abstract:
The conventional flux balance analysis method is briefly explained. Its application to the metabolic flux analysis of the Chlorella cell, under autotrophic, heterotrophic, and mixotrophic conditions, focuses on energy generation. Other applications to such single-gene knockout Escherichia coli strains, such as pflA, pta, ppc, adhE, and pykF mutants cultivated under anaerobic conditions, are also explained, as is metabolic regulation analysis based on metabolic fluxes, enzyme activities, and intracellular metabolite concentrations.
