13C-metabolic flux analysis and its applications
Abstract:
The basic idea and the algorithm for 13C metabolic flux analysis are explained. Its application to wild-type Escherichia coli using glucose or acetate as a carbon source is explained based on isotopomer data obtained by GC-MS. Other applications are explained for metabolic flux analysis of pckA, pgi, and zwf gene knockout E. coli strains based on the isotopomer data obtained by NMR.
