I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Time code and production
Time code is an essential tool for editing a programme. If a shot log has been compiled on acquisition or in post-production review, the time code identifies which shots are preselected and structures off-line editing. There are two types of time code available to accommodate the great diversity in programme content and production methods. The cameraman should establish at the start of the shoot which method is required.
Record run: Record run only records a frame identification when the camera is recording. The time code is set to zero at the start of the day’s operation and a continuous record is produced on each tape covering all takes.
