Group 17 (VIIIA) Halogens F, Cl, Br, I and At
INTRODUCTION
The elements F, Cl, Br, I and At (Astatine) are called halogens (Greek, ‘Halos’-salt and ‘gene’ — born, i.e., salt forming).
