How Do Screens Show Colors? Experiment with an RGB LED |  |
IF YOU HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING the experiments in sequence, you have already learned how to illuminate an LED and to calculate its series resistor value. You will have also discovered how to create a 555 astable timer circuit that can be used to flash an LED on and off. Experiment 3 in this chapter explores how a color screen on a mobile phone is able to create different colors. You’ll be introduced to a different type of LED that contains three different colors in a single component.
