Judge Not, Lest Ye Miss an Opportunity
A former boss of mine once told me a story. I have no idea if it’s true, but it makes my point, so I’m going to use it. Let’s just call it a parable. As the story goes, a family of farmers owned a large amount of acreage in the southeastern United States. Over many decades, the land increased significantly in value as one of the major cities in the South expanded and began to surround the family’s property with suburbs. Eventually, part of the family’s land was sold for a hefty sum to a developer who placed a large shopping mall on the property. The farmers became extremely rich.
