WHY BOTHER BEING ALTRUISTIC?

You may find the premise of this chapter a bit weird; the book is about your career, but this chapter is about going out into society and doing things for nothing. Surely that is going to distract you from your career isn’t it?

Well, maybe not. Doing things for altruistic reasons can, and often does, have many more tangible benefits, as I have found myself.
