Even when you get your day-to-day eating under control at home and at work, eating well when you’re out at restaurants or celebrating special occasions can still be a daunting challenge. Restaurant menus are filled with scrumptious creations that are often packed with fat and sugar, and the holiday season lures people into a sense of abandon when it comes to the endless amounts of delicious, high-sugar goodies that are constantly available. On top of those, add the occasional dinner party, birthday, or other celebration, and you may find that a third of your meals (or more) over the course of a year are “abnormal” — which is code for “I ate way too much food, and most of it was junk.”
