There are several different families of transistors available to designers and, although the actual implementations vary, each can be used to construct primitive logic gates. This book concentrates on the enhancement-mode Metal-Oxide Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistors (MOSFETs) introduced in Chapter 4: Semiconductors (Diodes and Transistors).
