What Is Your Personal Measure of Success?
People in the Finance group face two challenges in defining their personal measures of success. First, as Table 7.1 indicates, their traditional orientation is in the value measures of the Control quadrant, which is too limited a value-creation perspective. They must develop a broader, more comprehensive value-creation measure. Second, the consequences of sunflower management are perhaps the most damaging in Finance. Personal measures of success in this group should be very attentive to minimizing it. The following case study illustrates these challenges.
