Appendix C. SRE Resources

One of the goals of this book is to offer you an index of the most helpful resources available to you on site reliability engineering. All throughout, I have pointed to the sources I have personally found valuable as I learned about the topic. This appendix collects the major sources and offers you a little tour of them.

Since this book is largely static, and there is new stuff being produced all the time, this is my point-in-time list. If there is something you have personally encountered that you believe should be in this appendix in future editions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Core Books

It’s pretty well accepted, and I agree, that you have to start here. These are the books written by SREs at Google and published by O’Reilly that really launched SRE into the world. Both are available online at https://sre.google/books for anyone to read, thanks to the largesse of Google, so if you haven’t read them yet, start here.
