The perfect point map will guide the reader anywhere without a word of text.
The most valuable business map is the point map—that is, the map that guides the reader to the specific destination—a mall, your office, the annual convention site. A point map differs from a topographic map, which is an accurate depiction of an area’s geography and includes political boundaries, rivers, and so forth.
A topographic map shows everything. On a point map, all that matters is the destination. A designer, therefore, is not restricted to geography.
