Exploring the Genre
As mentioned in the introduction, the classic point and click adventure genre provides not only a forgiving environment in which to create a game, but it also allows you to explore tips, tricks, and techniques often ignored in other beginning Unity game books.
Coupled with the fact that it appeals to a wide range of players, including many that have never played a first person shooter type game, it becomes an ideal vehicle for the casual games market. And, given that so many people have their own idea for some variation of the genre, it appears to be a good place to start.
