Another way ARKit can interact with the real world is through image detection. Image detection involves storing images and then using the camera to recognize those exact same images when viewed through an augmented reality view.
Image detection is similar but different from machine learning image recognition. With image recognition, an app can recognize items it has never seen before such as different varieties of cars, pencils, or computers. Image detection simply recognizes a stored image.
