System Requirements
The Backdrop team focused on minimizing the system requirements for Backdrop, making the platform a shared-hosting-friendly CMS. The base requirements for installing Backdrop are as follows:
PHP 5.3.2 or higher.
MySQL or MariaDB 5.0.15 or higher (with PDO).
