Open source JavaScript engines provide a vast assortment of features for developers to collaborate on code to make their jobs easier. These engines come in a variety of flavors and completeness, as well as approaches to game development. Although an exhaustive list of open source game engines would be quite long, I discuss many of the engines that have gained some popularity in the HTML5 game development community.
