In Chapter 13, “Package Development,” we will learn about the three application development models that Salesforce supports and where the metadata source of truth resides:

  • Change Set Development Model : The production org is the source of truth. Salesforce DX does not support change sets.

  • Org Development Model : A version control system is the source of truth. Salesforce DX supports this model.

  • Package Development Model : A version control system is the source of truth. Salesforce DX supports this model.
