Reading Ben Bernanke’s speeches as a Fed governor is like staring at a stereogram—a three-dimensional picture that seems to rise up from the page. What stands out is that he seems to have systematically trained himself to become a top central banker. In almost fifty speeches, he covered not only most of the hot issues of monetary policy but also the regulatory and financial market issues.
