Chapter 8. Tailoring the Model
8.1. Overview
In Chapters 2 through 7, I presented my Formal Testing Process Model, which is based on IEEE Standards and the STEP Methodology from Software Quality Engineering (Gelperin and Hetzel, 1988). The activities, tasks, and processes that are associated with a formal testing program can be used to provide a firm foundation for a testing estimate on a medium-size to large development program.
If you want to put a testing process in place, or need to improve an existing process, this model should point you in the right direction.
