In June 1999, Linkage, Inc. performed a research study on the current state of Organization and Human Resource Development. The study indicated that there is a strong demand, in particular, for the following OD/HRD initiatives (Table 2) within organizations.

This handbook approaches each of these 5 OD/HRD topic areas through practical case studies. From the perspective of the practitioner, the handbook presents a practical framework for designing, implementing, and evaluating a successful OD/HRD initiative.
