Making Facilitated Mentoring Work

In the preface, I acknowledged being a lot smarter today than when I wrote the first edition of this book. The credit for this learning goes to all of my associates and clients who have shared their experiences with me. At the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) Solutions Summit in November 1999, I described the best practices and lessons learned from my research and work with mentoring processes in seventeen countries. In this chapter, I recount some of the ways those organizations, and others cited in publications, are making mentoring work to improve results and achieve their goals.
