5.6. BIM and Punch Lists
Punch lists are an especially interesting area in regard to BIM, and tools are currently available that could streamline processes and embed punch list information within the BIM model. With the use of handheld computers, construction management personnel are now able to walk from room to room and provide detailed information about the punch list items. These items are then tracked and logged, much like an RFI. These are some of the options currently available:
Creating custom room schedules in the modeling software (Revit, ArchiCAD, and Catia)
Using software such as Acrobat to create specific markups within sheet and model files
