5.5. BIM and Site Coordination
Building information modeling and site coordination can involve sustainable site management, building component tracking, commissioning, GPS material location, scheduling, and so on. Because this is a broad field and there are many tools for site coordination, in this section I will analyze how BIM can be utilized to assist in site coordination specifically. Site coordination is unique because in many cases using BIM technologies goes further into more specific technologies that assist in a more coordinated project and integration. In the future, as BIM continues to evolve, there will be more tools that dovetail into the model and documents that make construction management run smoothly.
