The supply chain contributes a significant amount of information

Perhaps the current BIM movement will create a different outlook towards the supply chain.

With some enlightened exceptions the perception is that the relationship between the supply chain and the rest of the design/construct professionals suffers from poor communication, is full of mistrust and contributes to the blame culture. Furthermore, because of the high degree of fragmentation in the industry or, put another way, because of the many components and materials there are, the supply chain creates waste, inefficiencies and uncertainty.
