Abstract

In the discipline of oncology, tumor identification and classification are crucial because early and precise tumor diagnosis can considerably increase the likelihood of effective therapy. For the purpose of determining cancer’s diagnosis, prognosis, and course of therapy, tumors must be identified and categorized. Several techniques and technologies have been developed recently to increase the accuracy of tumor identification and categorization. With an emphasis on various imaging modalities and classification techniques, this book chapter’s objective is to provide a comprehensive review of tumor detection and classification.

The relevance of tumor detection and classification is briefly discussed at the beginning of the chapter, which is then followed by a review of the techniques and technologies employed. In the first section, imaging modalities are discussed. Each technique’s workings, benefits, and uses in tumor identification and categorization are covered. Explaining how molecular biology tools may be used to identify and categorise malignancies as you go on. We also give instances of how these methods have been used to diagnose and treat cancer. The next part focuses on methods for identifying and categorizing tumors using machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence ...
