Abstract
Although nanotechnology continuously offers new materials to be utilized in various applications beneficial to society, some nanomaterial hazards as end products have also been observed by researchers in hundreds of studies. This observation indicates the necessity of research on improvement in present nanomaterial complexities through the implication of new methods for nanomaterial’s synthesis. In this context, green nanoscience is a rapidly growing approach to the production and utilization of nanomaterials developed by biological methods. Green nanoscience is beneficial to society and the environment, in several ways through the implementation of designing rules to synthesize safe nanomaterials without the production of any toxic end products. In this chapter, we have discussed the limitation of existing nanotechnology-based methods to produce nanomaterials and why we need the green nanoscience approach to overcome these limitations. The advantages of greener nanoscience have been described together with the processes for green nanomaterials synthesis. Green nanotechnology focuses on product designing ...
