Visualizing Your Masterpiece

In this chapter we are going to discuss some key ingredients that will help us create beautiful black-and-white images. I often liken photography to baking: You can have all the best intentions to bake the perfect pie, but if you don’t have the experience or a basic recipe—temperature, proportion of ingredients, and time—then everything is left to chance. In this chapter I am going to try to take luck out of the equation and give you a strong recipe for a great black-and-white photo.
