Silhouette and local color

The first fill is a silhouette of the whole character. This will be followed by multiple sections for clothing, details, and separate parts:

  1. Make a material that has a fill but no stroke. Switch to the Fill tool, , and select a layer called Fills.
  2. We can get a silhouette of the whole character much easier using the outside of the character, rather than the inside. Zoom so that the character fills the screen, and then click outside of him. The crop of the 3D viewport will determine where this outside fill is placed.
