Chapter 11: Rigging Tank Tracks

In this chapter, we will go beyond modeling and explore Blender’s Constraint features. Constraints are functions used to form relationships between objects, so that one object change depending on the behavior of another object. In our case, we will form a relationship between the movement of the tank and the rotation of the wheels and tracks, which will automatically turn them as the tank moves.

By the end of this chapter, you will have a solid understanding of the Transformation constraint, and a fully rigged tank. The skills learned in this chapter can also be used to rig a bicycle chain, chainsaw, gears, and many other things with similarly related mechanical behavior.
