9. Googling Yourself: Finding Yourself on Search Engines
Some people call it ego surfing, others call it reputation management. Whatever you want to call it, and no matter how egotistical you think it makes you sound, you need to search for yourself on the search engines.
Why?
Because your potential employers, clients, and even former classmates are searching for you. People who are deciding whether to hire you (or want to reconnect after “that awkward way we left things back in high school”) are going to search for your name to see what they can find out about you.
