CHAPTER 8The Hacker Threat
No book about digital transformation would be complete without a chapter or two or a hundred on security. As a matter of fact, the number-one issue I hear when I talk to financial institutions about digital transformation is their concern around security. I couldn't agree more that this is an important issue. As a matter of fact, I encourage most organizations that are going through digital transformation to make security their number-one priority regarding their processes. This means developing an iron-clad bulletproof security process within your organization. It should go above and beyond the regulatory standards, and it should exceed any current industry standards. For instance, if your regulatory standard is to have your digital assets penetration tested four times a year, I would consider doing it every month. If your regulatory standard is to have your organization conduct an internal penetration test once a year or twice a year, I would do it monthly or more. Simply put, you cannot spend enough on security.
