SCREENWRITER SPOTLIGHT #3: Marissa Jo Cerar

Marissa Jo Cerar is a film and television writer who grew up in a family of eight adopted kids in rural Illinois. After writing a handful of award-winning scripts, her project Conversion was selected for the Hit List and the Black List in 2012, and Marissa Jo was included on the Young and Hungry List the following year. Conversion sold to indie financiers KperiodMedia in 2016.

From 2013—2016, Marissa Jo wrote for the critically acclaimed television series The Fosters. She’s currently a writer and co-producer on the new Fox series, Shots Fired, set to premiere in Spring 2017.
